Happy Hour Projects: Win Supplies For Your School From ...

You may remember a few months back when I blogged about the Astrobrights Paper "Give A Brighter Year" Sweepstakes. ?There was a shot at a $30,000 prize of cash and school supplies for one lucky fan's elementary school. ?Well - last Friday, Iola Elementary school received their prize, and I wanted to share some highlights of the donation and the ceremony with you today!

By entering their favorite school, Astrobrights fans received a chance to win a $500 Gift Card for themselves and also choose the winning elementary school to receive the donation.

"The donation revealed more than Astrobrights' true colors. Lorraine Denman, the fan who submitted Iola Elementary to win the sweepstakes, donated her $500 personal prize to the students. She hosted an Astrobrights arts/craft and essay contest in each homeroom, where children were asked to show how they can help others in society and 'pay it forward', with the winning students taking home a piece of the $500 total prize."

Astrobrights' prize (and Lorraine's own generosity by donating her personal winnings) are allowing the Iola school to purchase new technology and curriculum. ?Their school (like many) has had to deal with budget cuts, so the Astrobrights donation will make a big impact. ?This is such a heartwarming story that I just had to share!
