2012 Bags Track Championship takes off on the same lines as - Bettor

2012 Bags Track Championship takes off on the same lines as previous year

Once again it is that time of the year when the trainers put up their best in order to score the highest points in the inter track contests in the form of the Bags Track Championship. This year, Swindon has taken the lead in Group D races. The track dominated the contest by recording five wins, three second scores and three third positions.

Swindon?s pattern of gaining dominance is not very different from how Monmore became the magnificent winner last year. The track remained strong throughout by ending in the frame of the first three positions.

Laying a strong foundation early on in the championships, and then making it the bench mark for the rest of the contests remains to the key element for landing the ultimate test.

The racing and team manager, Jim Woods, commented last year:

??I was always hopeful but never confident, and itdidn?t look good for us when we got off to an awful start in the regional heats here and at Oxford ? I got plenty of criticism . . . and again over my team selection for today. I faced some tough choices, but it worked out on the day and I?m proud for all our owners and trainers.?

The winning trainer, Chris Allsopp, stated:

?That was more nerve-wracking that a Category One, wasn?t she made to work hard? It?s been a fantastic year for us all, now for the track too.?

This year, the contest began with Belle Vue leading by 74 points on 31st October while by 2nd November, Swindon stormed off with highly impressive 88 points.

Trainers, Charlie Lister and Chris Allsopp, have not been able to make news yet, but the moment for sure is not long away. Both make it a point to either win or get decent credentials in all the influential and significant events through the year.

Among the few events, other than the Derbies, the Bags Track Championship has kept the boat afloat for the sport, and the Championship is followed by many loyal fans. The prize money is lucrative too which entices the trainers to put in the very best of the efforts.

In 2011, Chris Allsopp gifted the contest with Pots And Pans, which racing machine will he bring into the competition this time will unfold soon.
